Songjiang, once called Huating in ancient times, also known as Yunjian, Rongcheng, and Gushui, is a famous town south of the Yangtze River. In 751 of the Tang Dynasty, Songjiang was named Huating County. In 1277 during the Yuan Dynasty, it was named Huating Prefecture, which was changed to Songjiang Prefecture the next year. Then in 1805 in the Qing Dynasty, it was developed into Songjiang Prefecture with Huating, Shanghai, Qingpu, Lou, Fengxian, Jinshan, Nanhui, and Chuansha Counties subject to it. In 1912, when the prefecture was abolished, Huating and Lou were merged into Huating County of Jiangsu Province. In 1914, Huating County was changed to Songjiang County. After liberation, the area became Songjiang Special District. In March 1958, it was merged into Suzhou Special District, and in November, Songj⛎iang became a county of Shanghai. Then in February 1998, the State Council approved Songjiang to be a district.

In 2021, the average temperature was significantly higher, with increased precipitation and normal sunshine. The average annual temperature was 18.2 degrees Celsius, 2.0 degrees higher than average. The city had 1,864.0 hours of sunshine, 65.0 hours higher than average, and 1,560.5 millimeters of rainfall, 392.3 millimeters higher than average. The District Agriculture and Rural Affairs Commission was rated as the only National Advanced Collective in Grain Production in Shanghai, and the farmers’ satisfaction with rural revitalization had been leading in Shanghai for many years. The construction of family farms continued to deepen, and the grain yield per mu, the number of live pigs, and the green food certification rate ranked among the top in Shanghai. A special campaign of eliminating illegal non-agricultural greenhouses was launched to stick to the red line policy of arable land protection. The district completed the pr🍌evention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic in elderly care services, carried out fire safety assessments of elderly care institutions, and implemented the construction of a traceability system catering to the elderly. The daily monitoring score of service quality of elderly care institutions ranked third in Shanghai. To promote integrated elderly care in the Yangtze River Delta, Songjiang, together with Jiaxing and Xuancheng, jointly released the list of 38 remote elderly care institutions, 6 integrated elderly care training bases, and 97 recommended scenic spots for elderly tourism. In 2021, the district completed 128 new or updated intellectual fitness gardens, 30 public fitn♓ess trails, 12 public courts, 1 public gym, 2 sports parks, and 2 fitness centers. By the end of the year, there were 1,032 intellectual fitness gardens, 112 public fitness trails, 107 public courts, 17 public gyms, 4 sports parks, and 5 fitness centers. Throughout the year, the district-affiliated venues received nearly 0.6906 million visitors, and the total revenue from the venues was 2.8093 million yuan.

In 2021, Songjiang tourism revenues reached 12.646 billion yuan, up by 19.2% over the previous year. The total number of tourists reached 16.5176 million, up by 47.3% over the previous year. By the end of 2021, there were 7 star-rated hotels in Songjiang, including 3 five-star hotels, 2 four-star hotels, and 2 three-star hotels. During the year, tourist hotels in Songjiang received 1.6206 million guests, the average room occupancy rate was 53.08%. By the end of 2021, there were 66 tourist agencies in the district with 0.1234 mi💛llion tourists joining tour groups.

InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland is innovative design work. It took 12 years to finish the construction of the hotel. This novel hotel follows the natural environment and makes full use of the curved surface of the quarry rock face to hang and build on it. The main body is composed of 2 layers above the surface and 15 layers 88 meters below the surface, which makes the worlꦜd amazed. The hotel is located at the Tianma Hill quarry near Sheshan Hill, 32 kilometers away from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport and Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, also adjacent to Sheshan National Forest Park, Chenshan Botanical Garden, and other tourist attractions. The hotel has about 900 square meters of pillarless banquet hall and 5 multi-functional conference rooms with different areas. Sheshan National Forest Park is the only natural mountainous forest touring site in Shanghai. The Park covers an area of 267 acres with 79.44% of the scenic spot covered by forests. There are 12 hills in the park, stretching theirไ way from the southwest to the northeast, like a string of jade pearls with a total length of 13km, offering Shanghai’s flat land a mountainous view. In June 1993, the former National Ministry of Forestry approved the establishment ꧑of Sheshan National Forest Park. In 2001, it was honored as one of the first national 4A-level touring sites. The scenic spots that opened to the public are East Sheshan Hill Park, West Sheshan Hill Park, Tianmashan Hill Park, and Xiaokunshan Hill Park.

Shanghai Chenshan Botanical Garden is in🦩 Sheshan National Tourist Resort (No.3888 Chenhua Highway). It is created through collaboration between the Shanghai Municipal Government, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and the State Forestry Administration, which combines scientific research, popular science, and sightseeing purpose. This remarkable 207-hectare botanical garden is the largest one in East China. 𝄹Chenshan Ancient Site in the garden was announced by Shanghai Municipal Government as a cultural relics protection unit of Shanghai in April 2014. The site was first found in early 2009, covering an area of about 16 hectares. It is preliminarily determined to be an ancient cultural site in the Shang and Zhou dynasties.
The botanical garden consists of four functional areas: the central exhibition area, the plant conservation area, the plant areas on five continents, and the peripheral buffer zone. The exhibition g🐈reenhouse covers an area of 12,608 square meters. It consists of Tropical Flower and Fruit Museum, Sand Botany Museum, and Exotic Botany Museum. It is the largest exhibition greenhouse group in Asia. Among them, Sand Botany Museum is the largest indoor sand botany exhibition hall in the world. Now Chenshan Bota൩nical Garden is a national 4A-level scenic spot.

天(tian)津(jin)方(fang)塔(ta)园(yuan)建(jian)成于1975年，土地征用182亩(mu)，原址(zhi)为(wei)(wei)唐宋(song)时间(jian)古(gu)华亭(tinꦛg)的(de)喧嚣的(de)城市中心站。园(yuan)里有县级不能(neng)中国电信(xin)文(wen)化(hua)(hua)遗(yi)产(chan)(chan)共8处，其中的(de)包含兴圣教寺塔(ta)，1995年11月底份被(bei)吉林(lin)省人民政(zheng)府(fu)部披露为(wei)(wei)全(quan)国各地侧重文(wen)化(hua)(hua)遗(yi)产(chan)(chan)保证企业(ye)；兰瑞堂、砖刻照壁(bi)、陈(chen)化(hua)(hua)成祠、天(tian)妃宫和望仙桥，2015年4月被(bei)市政(zheng)工程府(fu)披露为(wei)(wei)天(tian)津(jin)市文(wen)化(hua)(hua)遗(yi)产(chan)(chan)保证企业(ye)；北京在明雕(diao)像生、张氏(shi)宅前厅，201几年6月被(bei)披露为ꩲ(wei)(wei)松江区文(wen)化(hua)(hua)遗(yi)产(chan)(chan)保证企业(ye)。

Established in 1978, Shanghai Square Pagoda Park covers an area of 182 mu. Its original site was the downtown of Huating during the Tang and Song Dynasties. There are 8 national, municipal, and district unmovable cultural relics in the park, including Xingshengjiao Temple Pagoda, which was announced as ꦚnational key cultural relics protection unit by the State Council in November 1996; Lanrui Hall, Screen Wall of E𒁏ngraved Bricks, Chen Huacheng Memorial Temple, Temple of the Queen of Heaven and Wangxian Bridge were announced as Shanghai municipal cultural relics protection unit in April 2014, Stone Statues of Ming Dynasty, Front Hall of Zhang’s Residence were announced as Songjiang district relics protection unit in June 2013.
The entire landscape is centered on the Square Pagoda of Northern Song Dynasty, surrounded by the Wangxian Bridge of Southern Song Dynasty, Screen Wall of Engraved Bricks of Ming Dynast🐻y, Lanrui Hall, stone carving garden, Temple of the Queen of Heaven, Chen Huacheng Memorial Hall, Helou Veranda, Qichang Corridor and so on. The park is rated as a national 4A-level scenic spot.

With an area of 76 mu, Shanghai Zuibaichi Park is one of the five ancient gardens in Shanghai. There are two immovable cultural✨ relics in the park, including Zuibꦿaichi, which was announced as Shanghai municipal cultural relics protection unit in April 2014; Woodcarving Hall, which was announced as Songjiang County Cultural Relics Protection Unit in July 1985. The predecessor of the garden was Guyang Garden, the residence of Zhu Zhichun, a jinshi (a successful candidate in the highest imperial examinations) in the Song Dynasty. The garden was also a place for Dong Qichang (a famous calligrapher and painter in Ming Dynasty) to drink and write poems. 370 years ago, during the period of Shunzhi of the Qing Dynasty, it was a private villa of Gu Dashen, chief of the Ministry of Works, he rebuilt the garden and changed its name to “Zuibaichi” because he worshipped Bai Juyi (poet of the Tang dynasty). The garden has many pavilions, terraces, and open halls such as Letian Xuan (a small room or veranda with windows) of the Song Dynasty, Simian (four sides) Hall, Yi Fang (a boat-shaped building), Reading Hall of the Ming Dynasty, and Cottage above the Pool, Xuehai Hall, Baocheng Building, Woodcarving Hall of the Qing Dynasty. Art treasures such as stone carvings of Zhao Mengfu's calligraphy authentic works “Visit to the Red Cliff” of Yuan Dynasty and steles of “Portraits of Excellent Talents in Yunjian” of Qing Dynasty are collected in the park. There are countless contemporary calligraphers’ inscribed tablets and couplets hanging in the park. Now the park is rated as a national 4A-level scenic spot.

Guangfulin Site of Ancient Culture is in the north of Songjiang New City, it spans Longyuan Road to the east, Guangfulin Road to the south, Shenjing River to the west, and North Yinze Road to the north. Covering an area of about 850 mu, it is the 🍬most abundant and valuable among 29 cultural sites in Shanghai. There are three immovable cultural relics on the site, including Guangfulin Site of Ancient Culture, which was announced as national key cultural relics protection unit by the State Council in May 2013; Chen Zilong Tomb, which was announced as Shanghai municipal cultural relics protection unit in November 1987; Zhiye Bridge, which was announced as Songjiang district cultural relics protection point in January 2016.

Shanghai Pujiang River Source Scenic Spot is the starting point of Shanghai’s mother river, Huangpu River, also known as the “Zero Kilometer of Huangpu River”. The Xietang River and Yuanxiejing Creek, which meander from Jiangsu and Zhejiang, converge here to form a delta-shaped treasure land and flow into Huangpu River through Hengliaojing Creek. At the confluence of the three rivers, the river is vast, the sailboats in the river competing for the current, the nets rising and falling by the river, the reeds on the bund swaying, the pink peaches and green willows setting each other off. Songjiang Museum is a local chronicles museum, where the historical relics in Songjiang are collected, researched, and exhibited. The 2-storey exhibition room covers an area of 1,200 square meters. The basic exhibition of “Treasures Buried in the Sand”, which is divided into 3 portions named “Dawn of Huangpu River”, “Glisten of the Historical River” and “Painting Arts”, is on the second floor. The exhibition scientifically shows the cultural relics, which are held in the museum and unearthed in ﷽Songjiang, and reflects the achievements during the different periods of social development combined with landscape restoration, lightbox, multimedia, and other auxiliary display methods. The first floor is a temporary exhibition hall, and various special exhibitions are held from time to time. Located on the east and west sides outside the exhibition hall, the Stele Gallery is composed of long corridors and tablet pavilions. The East Stele Gallery displays the historical materials and inscriptions of Songjiang Prefecture during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The West Stele Gallery displays the calligraphic art inscriptions of Zhao Mengfu, Dong Qichang, and Shen Quan.

Sutra Pillar of the Tang Dynasty
松江唐经(jing)幢(chuang)属(shu)于(yu)松江中(zhong)山(shan)民办小学校区(qu)内，198七(qi)年11月(yue)被(bei)吉林省(sheng)人民政府公布为江苏省(sheng)要点古(gu)施(shi)工(gong)防护单位(wei)名称。建于(yu)唐大(da)中(zhong)第十(shi)2年（859年），是现有北京最古(gu)朴的水平面(mian)(mian𓆏)施(shi)工(gong)。经(jing)幢(chuang)21级，高9.3米(mi)，八(ba)棱八(ba)面(mian)(mian)，故又被(bei)称为为八(ba)棱碑，又称“唐经💛(jing)幢(chuang)”，美称“石塔”。
Sutra Pillar of the Tang Dynasty is located at the campus of Zhongshan Primary School, Songjiang. In January 1988, it was announced by the State Council as a national key cultural relics protection unit. Established in 859, the pillar is the oldest ground building in Shanghai. The pillar is built of 21 stone blocks with a height of 9.3 meters. With eight ridges and eight slides, it is also known as the Eight-Ridge Pillar, commonly known as the “Sutra Pillar of the Tang Dynasty”, also known🍸 as the “Stone Pillar”.

大(da)(da)仓桥(qiao)坐(zuo)落永丰街区(qu)中(zhong)甘肃(su)路仓桥(qiao)弄南，201几年4月被公布了为苏州(zhou)市中(zhong)国文化遗产(chan)保(bao)护区(qu)标准，是座(zuo)高10余(yu)米，跨(kua)高50余(yu)米的五孔桥(qiao)拱大(da)(da)石桥(qiao)。桥(qiao)前(qian)身永꧒丰，因桥(qiao)南为松江(jiang)府漕运仓城，故属称大(da)(da)仓桥(qiao)。现为苏州(zhou)位(wei)置著名(ming)人物的明(ming)清大(da)(da)石桥(qiao)一个。
Located at Cangqiao Lane South, West Zhongshan Road in Yongfeng Sub-district, Dacang Bridge was announced as Shanghai municipal c🍸ultural relics protection unit in April 2014. The bridge spans 50 meters long and 10 meters high over the river. It was formerly known as Yongfeng Bridge and later named Dacang Bridge for there was Water Transport Warehouse City of Songjiang Prefecture to the south of the bridge. It is one of t💫he famous big stone bridges of the Ming Dynasty in Shanghai.

松江清(qing)真寺地属岳阳街路桥居委会缸甏巷75号，19🦩80年八月(yue)份被(bei)颁(ban)布为东莞市历史文物(wu)养护机关单位，是东莞各地较早(zao)的(de)伊(yi)斯兰教佛(fo)教寺院(yuan)，创于(yu)于(yu)元(yuan)至正(zheng)末年（134一年—1365年），初(chu)名真教寺。清(qing)朝五代(dai)(dai)十国末期(qi)过无数次(ci)修(xiu)整(zheng)和改造，因(yin)而，现(xian)在的(de)中国的(de)清(qing)真寺举例说明元(yuan)代(dai)(dai)五代(dai)(dai)十国末期(qi)的(de)钢(gang)结构(gou)(gou)(gou)(gou)古(gu)产(chan)(chan)品(pin)复古(gu)风(feng)，又有清(qing)朝几代(dai)(dai)的(de)🌞钢(gang)结构(gou)(gou)(gou)(gou)古(gu)产(chan)(chan)品(pin)特性(xing)。行(xing)为主体钢(gang)结构(gou)(gou)(gou)(gou)古(gu)产(chan)(chan)品(pin)多大殿(dian)、窑(yao)殿(dian)、穿廊，另有南、北讲坛，邦克门(men)等(deng)，表(biao)中窑(yao)殿(dian)和邦克门(men)两(liang)个地方最具该寺钢(gang)结构(gou)(gou)(gou)(gou)古(gu)产(chan)(chan)品(pin)特性(xing)。
Located at No.75 Gangbeng Alley, Maluqiao Neighborhood Committee in Yueyang Sub-district, Songjiang Mosque was announced as Shanghai municipal cultural relics protection unit in August 1980. As one♑ of the oldest mosques in Shanghai, Songjiang Mosque was built during 1341-1368, also named Zhenjiao Mosque. After many renovations and expansions during the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the mosque today features the style of construction of the Yuan, Ming, and Qing Dynasties. The main buildings include Central Hall, Kiln Hall, Crossing Corridor, North and South Speech Hall, and Bangke Chamber. Among them, the Kiln Hal💟l and Bangke Chamber can best represent the traits of the Mosque.
西林禅寺
Xilin Temple
西林(lin)禅寺，另(ling)名(ming)崇恩寺，建于南宋咸淳车间(jian)（1265—127几年）。明(ming)(ming)洪武(wu)二十(shi)二年（138八年）改造，建在岳阳城市𓆏(shi)(shi)中莫干山中路66-6。明(ming)(ming)正(zheng)统皇敕封时赐名(ming)“大明(ming)(ming)朝(chao)西林(lin)禅寺”。殿内后门的一(yi)斜塔(ta)(ta)(ta)，名(ming)圆应宝塔🌃(ta)(ta)(ta)，熟称“西林(lin)塔(ta)(ta)(ta)”。圆应塔(ta)(ta)(ta)（西林(lin)塔(ta)(ta)(ta)）1982年九月被发布文章为(wei)成都市(shi)(shi)出土(tu)文物确保企业单(dan)位。塔(ta)(ta)(ta)身(shen)七(qi)层八面(mian)，砖木结构(gou)设计(ji)，塔(ta)(ta)(ta)高46.5米，迄今为(wei)止仍(reng)为(wei)成都省市(shi)(shi)最好(hao)的一(yi)个古塔(ta)(ta)(ta)。
Located at No.666 Middle Zhongshan Road in Yueyang Sub-district, Xilin Temple, also known as Chong’en Temple, was originally built during 1265-1274 and reconstructed in 1387. In Ming Dynasty, an emperor named it as Xilin Temple of Ming. Behind the main hall, there stands a 46.5-meter-high, 7-storey octagonal pagoda of brick and wood structure, which is called Yuanying Pagoda, also well-known as Xilin Pagoda. Announced as Shanghai 𓆏municipal cultural relics protection unit in September 1982, this pagoda is the tallest ancient pagoda in Shanghai.
